What we do
Regulated escrow, built for platforms

Marvipay plugs into B2B trading platforms as a regulated escrow layer — holding funds impartially, releasing them on confirmation, and maintaining a full audit record on every transaction.

Regulated fund holding

Client funds held in legally segregated accounts under FCA-authorised Payment Institution rules. Never mixed with Marvipay's operating capital.

For: platform operators & buyers

Virtual IBAN per transaction

Each trade gets a dedicated GB IBAN. Funds are mapped 1:1 to a single transaction ID, eliminating allocation errors and simplifying reconciliation.

For: finance & tech teams

Conditional payment release

Funds released only when platform-defined conditions are met — delivery confirmed, documents verified, or dispute resolved. No unilateral movement.

For: platforms managing trade risk

Full audit trail

Every movement, release, and hold logged with timestamps and party identifiers. Available for compliance, dispute resolution, and reporting.

For: compliance officers & CFOs

KYB & AML built in

All participating businesses verified against regulatory standards before funds are accepted. Ongoing transaction monitoring included as standard.

How it works
Four steps. Fully auditable.
1

Platform creates an escrow instruction

Your platform defines the trade — parties, amount, currency, and release conditions — via the Marvipay dashboard or API.

2

A dedicated Virtual IBAN is issued

Marvipay issues a unique GB IBAN mapped 1:1 to that trade. The buyer sends funds there — tracked, isolated, and tied to a single transaction ID.

3

Funds held in segregated escrow

Money sits in a ring-fenced client account, legally separate from Marvipay's own capital. KYB and AML checks run on all parties before funds are accepted.

4

Delivery confirmed — funds released

Once your platform confirms fulfilment, Marvipay releases payment to the seller via their preferred rail. A complete audit record is generated automatically.

Fund protection
How your funds are protected

Marvipay is not a bank. We are a regulated payment institution. Client funds are never lent, invested, or used for operations — ever.

Segregated client accounts

All funds held in accounts legally and operationally separate from Marvipay's own capital. Protected in the event of insolvency.

Tier-1 banking partners

Escrow funds held at FCA-regulated UK and European banking institutions. No exposure to unregulated counterparties.

Full audit trail

Every fund movement logged with timestamps, party identifiers, and release authorisations. Available to platform operators on request.

Dual-authorisation release

Funds released only when both platform confirmation and Marvipay compliance sign-off are received. No unilateral release possible.

Marvipay gave Marvinet the regulatory credibility to offer escrow to our trading community. Onboarding took days, not months, and our buyers immediately felt the difference.

Having a regulated escrow layer built into our platform changed how sellers engage. The trust signal alone has improved conversion on high-value trades significantly.

The compliance architecture Marvipay brings means we don't have to build it ourselves. It's like having an in-house regulated treasury team without the overhead.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Who actually holds the funds?
Marvipay Ltd, as an FCA-Authorised Payment Institution, holds client funds in segregated accounts at Tier-1 UK banking partners. Funds are kept legally and operationally separate from Marvipay's own capital at all times — never on our balance sheet.
What happens if there is a dispute?
Marvipay does not arbitrate disputes. Funds remain held until the platform — which is contractually responsible for resolution — issues a release instruction. Hold periods can be extended upon request from the platform operator.
What currencies do you support?
GBP and EUR natively, via 3s.money Virtual IBANs. Additional currencies available via SWIFT. Contact us for specific currency corridor requirements.
What is the relationship between Marvipay and Marvinet?
Both are subsidiaries of Ermes Holdco. Marvinet is a B2B trading platform — focused on connecting buyers and sellers through relationships. Marvipay is the transactional trust layer — the regulated escrow infrastructure that ensures payments within those relationships always settle safely. They are complementary, not competing.
Is Marvipay a bank?
No. Marvipay is an FCA-Authorised Payment Institution, not a bank. Client funds are protected through mandatory segregation under the Payment Services Regulations 2017. We do not lend, invest, or use client money for any purpose other than executing the agreed payment.
